Actor Akari Takaishi appeared on stage at the completion preview stage greeting for the film “Baby Warukyure Nice Days” held in Tokyo on the 27th.
He spoke about his extraordinary feelings about the film, which was shot in Takaishi’s hometown of Miyazaki.
Takaishi is an actor who has been extremely active in films and dramas, including “My Happy Marriage” (23) and the “Crashing High School Girl and the Wasted Teacher” series.
She is currently starring in the film, “If I don’t do it, who will?” which is currently showing in theaters, and the film “Your Color”, in which she provided voice acting, is due for release soon.
The “Baby Warukyure” series is known as the work that instantly raised Takaishi’s profile, and is popular as a masterpiece that established the “assassin” genre in Japanese cinema and brought about a revolution in girls’ action films.
In this third movie, Chisato Sugimoto and Mahiro Fukagawa, who landed in Miyazaki, Kyushu on a killing mission, are depicted facing the “strongest enemy in history.” Chisato Takaishi and Saori Izawa, who co-starred in the film, play Mahiro.
In addition to Takaishi and Izawa, the stage greeting was attended by Ikematsu Sosuke, who plays the greatest assassin in history, Fuyumura Kaede, Maeda Atsuko, who plays the senior assassin, Iruka Minami, and director Sakamoto Yugo.
Takaishi, who appeared on stage in a bright red long dress in front of a packed theater, expressed her emotions by saying, “Seeing so many people in front of me, I am once again very happy to see that ‘Baby Warukyuure’ has become a work that is loved by so many people.”
Takaishi has been playing Chisato since 2021, and this is her third film. The two, who play Mahiro, played by Izawa, are a laid-back female assassin duo that has captivated movie fans with their unique atmosphere.
Takaishi revealed, “This third film was made possible because of Izawa-san.The theme is not just about the relationship between Chisato and Mahiro, but about Izawa Saori and Takaishi Akari becoming one, and I think that will come across when you watch the film.”
Izawa commented in empathy, “I really felt the same way as Akari-chan, and I thought that with Chisato and Mahiro by my side, everything would work out.”
The film was shot in Takaishi’s hometown of Miyazaki, and Maeda excitedly said, “Akari’s parents made a big pot of pork soup on a cold day and brought it to us as a gift, full of love!”
“They were such nice people, I was really moved,” he continued, with a sigh of relief.
Izawa added, “It was really warm and delicious,” and Takaishi looked relieved and said, “I thought it might be a bother, but I’m glad that it made you happy.”
Ikematsu, who is starting to appear in this film, expressed his joy by saying, “I was involved in this project myself, and I’m very excited that this film has been created.”
