A special screening event for the drama “Fear” will be held! The official report of the stage greeting by the main cast members Riko and Yuya Takaki has arrived!

Here is an official report on the special screening event for the drama “Fear,” which airs on CBC TV every Thursday from 12:58am, held at Aeon Cinema Wonder on August 24th!

The original work on which the drama is based is “Fear – Reiwa Kaidan” by Kawakami Juoku, which is currently being serialized on Cycomi, a manga service for smartphones and PCs.
The script was written by Kamomentaru’s Iwasaki Udai, a talented comedian and television writer, and the film is directed by Koyama Takumi, who has worked on numerous commercials and music videos for brands such as Google Pixel and Uniqlo. This modern horror drama explores the fear that may be lurking all around you.

At this event, in addition to the already aired episodes 1 and 2, a special version including the just-completed episodes 3 and 4 will be screened in two alternating parts, earlier than any other broadcast or streaming version.
We will also give you an in-depth look at how Riko, who plays the main character Mizoguchi Mayu, and Takaki Yuya, who plays the mysterious, surprise streamer Yamakazu, rushed to the stage to greet the audience!

The stage greetings were held twice, once after the first screening and once before the second screening. First, here is a detailed report on the stage greetings after the screening.

The MC will be CBC TV announcer Nagaoka Ayumu.
After warming up the audience by explaining the outline of the drama, the long-awaited cast speech finally came on stage!

The two made a surprise appearance from the back of the audience, causing fans to cheer in surprise and joy.

Riko, who took the stage, had a charming, warm smile.
On the other hand, Takagi also showed his playful side by saying, “I brought the melon soda I was drinking with me.”
By the way, this is Takagi’s first time appearing in a terrestrial television drama in two years.
Although he has been active mainly in stage productions recently, after reading the script for “Fear,” he said, “I was attracted to the content, which so vividly expresses the rawness of human nature, and decided to take on the challenge.”
Riko praised Takagi, saying, “Even from the reading stage, he was so natural and perfect, I thought he was amazing.”

When asked about the most memorable scene he filmed, he replied, “The scene in the first episode where I get killed was really difficult.
Also, although her own consciousness remained the same, she was constantly playing different roles, which made her feel confused and at first it was hard to understand.” (Riko)
“In episode 3, there was a line that we had to add to a scene that wasn’t planned for that day, so I was a bit confused. Also, this time we didn’t shoot in order, and we started filming from episode 10 (the final episode), so to be honest I would like to do it again (laughs),” said Takagi, and the group shared many behind-the-scenes stories.

Finally, what are the highlights to look forward to in the future?
“The dots keep connecting and the more you watch the more you want to know what happens next in the story, so I hope you’ll look forward to it.
Also, if you watch the show while keeping in mind who the person I’m playing is, I think you’ll enjoy the story even more.” (Riko)

“The show will be aired in the middle of the night and there are some chilling scenes, so if you find it too scary, I recommend watching it in the daytime on TVer or FOD.
I hope you enjoy wondering what will happen to each person.
Also, I think the drama itself is very thought-provoking and interesting, but the ending song (Hey! Say! JUMP“NEAD” is also really cool, so I hope you enjoy the song along with the main story.” (Takagi)

The stage greeting ended in a harmonious atmosphere, with Takagi adding laughter throughout.
I’m looking forward to seeing how the drama develops in the future.

In the second part, a stage greeting will be held before the screening.
Unlike the previous event, this time they will be sharing behind-the-scenes stories about the drama’s production so as not to give away any spoilers, and will also be holding a last-minute Q&A session with the audience.

When asked about the highlights of the drama and how they prepared for their roles, the two
“This time, I have a unique role in which the name and personality change. At first, I was worried about how to act, but the director told me that it was okay to keep the same by default, so I felt a lot more at ease.
However, Yamakazu, the aggressive streamer played by Takagi, is always high-energy, so it was a little difficult to keep from getting carried away by his tempo,” Riko said, to which Takagi replied, “In reality, I’m a cool person, though.”
Announcer Nagaoka suddenly commented, “We were in the same dressing room, and we were talking the whole time.”
The atmosphere was peaceful and laughter echoed from the audience.

Then, the script was quickly changed and the question time from the audience began.
If anyone would like to ask a question to the two of them, please raise your hand and one of them will call on you.

Takagi then suggested, “In keeping with the title of the drama, let’s ask some fearless questions.”
As various questions were flying around, there was even a moment when the microphone was handed directly to the audience, and the Q&A session ended with great excitement!

This time, not only could we enjoy the first-ever footage of the drama “Fear,” but we also got a glimpse of the two actors’ true faces and got to interact with them up close, making it an event full of rare scenes that can only be experienced here!

In addition to being broadcast on CBC TV, the drama “Fear” is also available for free catch-up streaming on TVer from noon the day after it airs.
You can also watch it on FOD after the broadcast ends.
Enjoy the world of modern horror that depicts human “fear”!
