MZSRZ (Mizu Shirazu) sings in an overwhelmingly life-size way about the vague anxieties that all of us have when we are extremely timid, the inexplicable frustration that has nowhere to go and no answers, with a deep, blue, sharp, and fleeting expression that cannot be measured by the yardstick of vocal ability.
When they debuted they were a five-member vocal collective, but last year they relaunched as Ohara Kirari’s solo project, and today they re-released a solo version of their live staple “Stray Sheep Backstory.”

Their debut song “Yoake” reached number one on the real-time rankings of a popular lyrics site. Since then, all of the singles released under the production and lyrics of “DECO*27” have continued to reach number one in the same rankings for six consecutive works with their blue, murky, and frank worldview. They have consistently sung slightly twisted songs of encouragement that fully forgive defeat, running away, being weak, and being different.
This work, which will be released again in September as the opening song, is no exception.
“I breathe with emotions that don’t exist in the dictionary and disappear when put into words.
It’s a backward song for us to resist the ever-changing days.
This is a message that is typical of mzsrz.
Rock opera, which deliberately goes against an age that demands rationality and has a “length” of just over six minutes that modern people would find intolerable, is completely free of the tyranny and recklessness of innocently pushing people from behind who are led to believe that there is a delay in all peripheral speeds that they don’t really need to feel.
Currently, they are hosting a monthly live show called “Minasoko Genzai Chi.” The next one will be held on Saturday, October 5th at Shimokitazawa WAVER.
