This year marks the 18th year of “Kira Challenge 2024.”
“Kira Challenge 2024,” a nationwide entertainment contest sponsored by Avex, which is open to boys and girls aged 3 to 3rd year of junior high school, started on Saturday, August 24th with the Tohoku Regional Preliminary (AEON Mall Natori), and completed three venues: the Kanto Regional Preliminary (Lake Town Kaze) and the Chubu Regional Preliminary (AEON Mall Okazaki).
This year, a new rap category will be added, and judging will be held nationwide in three categories: vocal/rap, modeling, and dance.
In the modeling division, the contestants stole the judges’ hearts with their fresh walking and posing, and in the vocal and rap division, the contestants’ beautiful voices filled the hall with a variety of genres, from J-POP to K-POP and rap. In the dance division, the contestants excited the audience with a wide range of dance styles, from powerful to graceful.
At the first venue, AEON Mall Natori, Toyama Rinka, who won the Nico☆Petit Award at “Kira Challenge 2022” and is active as an exclusive model for Shinchosha’s “Nico☆Petit,” and Yamakoshi Risa, who won the Jury Special Award at “Kira Challenge 2022” and is active as an exclusive model for Shinchosha’s “Nico☆Petit,” appeared on stage as guest models.
In addition, at Lake Town Kaze, three people appeared: Toyama Rinka, Yamakoshi Risa, and Fujita Souka, who won both the Nico☆Puchi Award and the NARUMIYA Award at Kira Challenge 2023 and is currently active as an exclusive model for Shinchosha’s Nico☆Puchi.
Three contestants appeared at AEON Mall Okazaki, the third regional qualifying venue: Enomoto Tsukimi, who was selected as the grand prize winner from over 10,000 applications at the 25th Exclusive Model Audition for the magazine “Nicola” and is currently working as an exclusive model for Nicola; Sato Nico, who won the grand prize at “Kira Challenge 2022” and is currently working as an exclusive model for a popular magazine for elementary and junior high school students; and Aoshima Nozomi, who won the Nico☆Puchi Award at “Kira Challenge 2023” and is currently working as an exclusive model for Shinchosha’s “Nicola☆Puchi.”
At the Kanto and Chubu regional preliminaries, they wore costumes from PINK-latte, the winners of Kira Challenge 2024, and Narumiya International.
Active models who came to each venue performed a special runway show just for that day and cheered on the children taking on the challenge.
Just like the guest models who livened up the stage this time, who will grab the chance to become a future Nico☆Puchi or Nico☆Puchi KiDS from “Kira Challenge”?
Other awards include the NARUMIYA Award, Pink Latte Award, and X-girl Stages / XLARGE KIDS Award in the modeling division. The winner of the grand prize in the vocal/rap division will receive free lessons from the Avex Group to support their development. The Avex ROYALBRATS Award has been newly established in the dance division this year.
There are nine awards available for the avex ROYALBRATS Awards, including an invitation to a special workshop by avex ROYALBRATS members, which are exclusive to the winners.
Entries for the Kanto Regional Qualifier (AEON MALL Makuhari New City) to be held on Saturday, October 5th will be accepted until 23:59 on Sunday, September 22nd. There is no document screening, so anyone who enters can stand on the stage. The entry method and details can be found on the official Kira Challenge website below.
This time, for those who normally find it difficult to attend because the venue is far away, those who cannot participate because the regional qualifying dates do not suit them, and those who unfortunately did not advance to the second qualifying round or final tournament, “Photo Challenge 2024” has also started on Instagram, which gives them the chance to advance to the final tournament by clicking “#PhotoChallenge2024Entry”.
