[SooYoung]First tie-up announced! “Who is Reflected in This World?” to be used as the ending theme for TV Tokyo’s drama “Chiba-kun from My Town”!

Last month, SooYoung announced the release of her first solo debut single in Japan, “Unstoppable,” on Wednesday, October 30th. The song “Who is Reflected in This World?” from her first solo single has been chosen as the ending theme for the TV Tokyo drama “Who is Chiba-kun in My Town?”. This will be her first tie-up song.
The drama “My Town’s Chiba-kun” (every Wednesday from 12:30am) which will be broadcast on TV Tokyo from Wednesday, October 9th, is based on the manga of the same name by Okamoto Tokasa, which won the runner-up prize in the 2020 anan Manga Awards.

Starring Igeta Hiroe, with co-stars Yamashita Koki and Inukai Takato. A handsome transfer student named Yuto arrives in the class of the protagonist Machi, who is now a teacher at the high school she once attended. He turns out to be the younger brother of Machi’s first love, Yuichi, and looks just like him back in high school. As her memories of her first love come back to her, she unexpectedly reunites with Yuichi at a drinking party… The story is a love triangle between two handsome brothers, Yuto, who reminds her of her first love every time she watches, and Yuichi, who is her high school crush and her idol.

The ending theme, “Who is Reflected in This World?”, is written by Soma Genda and Kanata Okajima, who have produced numerous hit songs, and its beautiful piano melody and string playing create a captivating sound.

When I recorded “Who is Reflected in This World?”, I was thinking of the monologue in the drama, so I was very moved when I heard that it had actually been chosen as the ending theme for the drama. I hope that the message in the song and the content of the drama will intertwine and reach everyone’s hearts.
