Two third-generation members joined the theater company 4 Dollars and 50 Cents, produced by Yasushi Akimoto, from October 1st.

The Theater Company 4 Dollars 50 Cents is a general entertainment group that focuses on theater produced by Yasushi Akimoto. Started activities in August 2017.

Last August, they completed 30 performances, the most in the company’s history. This year, as part of their 7th anniversary event, they have been actively engaged in activities, including the successful performance of the play “Glass of Reminiscence”, which was produced exclusively by theater company members for the first time.

Members of this troupe are also active in individual activities in various genres. Abe Otsu, a member of the 1st generation, appeared on “Kamen Rider Gatchard”, which aired until August of this year, and became a hot topic.

In addition, 1st generation member Akira Aoki, who has appeared in many dramas and movies, and is a regular on Nippon Television’s “ZIP!” The group includes unique members such as Ueki and Satoshi, who appear in “Tachi”.

This time, the 3rd generation members are Rikuto Sugawara, a 23-year-old from Ishikawa Prefecture, and Riko Otsuki, a 22-year-old from Tokyo.

In 2022, Sugawara won the runner-up prize at the “OCEAN TOKYO presents Next Generation Men’s Talent Discovery Project” and was also selected as a finalist at the “19th FINEBOYS Exclusive Model Audition” in the same year, demonstrating his impressive track record in the contest. She is a promising newcomer who has already appeared on stage and in dramas, and will be making her first regular appearance in a drama series in October of this year on TBS/MBS Dramaism “The Dress-up Doll is in Love.”

“My father was an actor in popular theater, and I’ve been involved in the stage since I was young,” Sugawara says, and Sugawara’s father is Mr. Hiyuuma, a disciple of Makoto Matsui, a leading actor in the popular theater world. Ever since I can remember, I have felt close to the charm of acting.

After auditioning, Sugawara will be working as a talent candidate for Avex AY Factory from April 2023. For about a year and a half, he has been taking acting lessons and voice training with his seniors from the 2nd generation, and now he has joined the troupe as a 3rd generation student.

Meanwhile, in 2020, Otsuki won the special jury award at “Miss Magazine 2020”. Otsuki says, “A theater company is created by all of us, and even if we are doing individual activities, we have a place to go back to, so that supports us and allows us to do our best.Emotionally, there are many different people and we are friends, so we can share that. I think that’s how I can grow as a member of the theater company,” he answered with a sense of anticipation.

In a theater troupe full of unique people, she said, “I’ve been playing sports ever since I was little, and I have a strong competitive personality.I’m seen as a quiet person, but it’s not just my impressions, but the stimulation that allows me to show my various sides.” In fact, I wish I could be that kind of person,” Otsuki said.

Sugawara said, “I think the fact that I’ve been doing popular theater since I was young is a big characteristic of me.I hope I can use what I’ve done in popular theater and what I’ve cultivated there, including sword fighting. ”, he analyzes his own strengths.

Regarding his future goals, Sugawara said, “I would like to make use of my experience in popular theater, gain a solid track record in a theater company, and appear in morning dramas and taiga dramas.I have always loved watching taiga dramas since I was young.” When speaking, Otsuki said emphatically, “The stage I most admire is the Academy Awards, where I want to win an award.I’ve always loved movies and dramas.After all, I want to do my best to win the Academy Award, which is Japan’s top award.” I was enthusiastic.

Sugawara and Otsuki have joined the theater company 4 Dollars and 50 Cents, which is celebrating its 8th year since its founding.
