Ryota Katayose visits sculptor Noriko Saso’s atelier! 40 bottles of wine in one work? ! MEET YOUR ART[THE BASE]approaches three-dimensional works made of glass


The series[THE BASE]in which Ryota Katayose (GENERETIONS) visits the ateliers and production sites that are the starting point for artists has been released.

This time, we visited the atelier of sculptor Noriko Saso. Sasou creates sculptures using glass and iron, using myths, zombies, and other fictional entities as motifs. Sasou uses wine bottles that he often drinks in his daily life to create his works, and Katayose was surprised at the amount of wine bottles used in each work!

The interview takes a deep dive into the background and process of creating his works, as well as his reasons for wanting to become an artist.
