Making & Interview

In the TV commercial, Nishikigoi’s Masaki Hasegawa and Takashi Watanabe appear for the first time in stage costumes. Hasegawa makes a cheerful appearance to the rhythmic music that has a festival feel, and announces the Hapi Toku Festival with the “Norinori Masanori Dance.” When Orin tries to explain the Hapi Toku Festival by saying, “If you buy a rice ball for 350 yen,” Hasegawa starts talking happily, and with his familiar loud voice and pose, he shouts, “I’ll get it too!!” and Matsuyama… Not to be outdone, he put it on and did the same pose. When Hasegawa lost to Matsuyama’s strength, Watanabe sharply said, “You’re losing!” and Nishikigobushi exploded, and in the end, in addition to Hasegawa, Watanabe and Wang Lin also performed the “Norinori Masanori Dance” and were happy. The story reminds us of the festival.

After the shooting, a surprise was held for Nishikigoi Hasegawa, who celebrated his 53rd birthday on July 30th.Hasegawa was surprised by a huge cake with Hasegawa’s illustrations on it, and burst out with joy. The entire staff celebrated while singing the birthday song, and the mood was peaceful throughout the shoot. Hasegawa said, “I’m going to become an adult, so I’m trying to live like an adult.” Obayashi said, “No matter how many times I ask him how old he is, he still looks like an elementary school student.Hasegawa-san is always the same.” When I watch it, I feel so at ease, and even when I’m nervous, I feel relieved and give courage to everyone, so I hope you’ll continue to be that kind of person.”

In the interview that followed, Hasegawa talked about how he felt when he was offered the opportunity to appear in a Lawson commercial for the first time. Hasegawa said, “I couldn’t believe it at first.Three years ago, when I was shopping at Lawson, If someone appeared to me and said, “You’ll be appearing in a Lawson commercial in three years,” I probably wouldn’t have believed it. I was a little nervous about that.” Watanabe said, “Right now, appearing in a Lawson commercial has been the best act of filial piety to my parents.” I had heard that there was one, but it was quite a difficult dance, and it was one of the most moving jobs I’ve ever done,” he said with excitement.

In addition, Wang Lin, who co-stars with Nishikigoi in a variety show, said, “I felt like my family had come, so I was able to enjoy filming with peace of mind. However, unlike when I was in a variety show, I felt a little nervous. I could feel it from the two of them. When Mr. Watanabe was behind me, he said in a small voice, “Smile…smile…smile…” and I felt that I saw them both cuter than usual today. ” he commented.

Furthermore, when asked what kind of autumn he would like for himself, Hasegawa said, “This year is already the “Masanori Autumn.” I’ve been doing “Nori Nori Masanori” for about 30 years. I hope everyone will start dancing at work.I hope this commercial will become popular,” Matsuyama said. Since I’ve been stuck at home this summer, I want to make this fall more active. Also, I want to spend this fall learning the entire “Norinori Masanori Dance” from beginning to end. “Norinori Masanori Dance” has extremely complex movements, and I realized that Hasegawa was doing something at a high level, and it was very interesting.”

Please pay attention to the new commercial, which is full of highlights, such as Hasegawa’s signature “Norinori Masanori Dance”, a loud confrontation with Matsuyama, and a scene in which Watanabe sharply thrusts into Hasegawa’s Nishikigobushi and explodes after being completely defeated by Matsuyama’s force.

Q: After filming the commercial, please tell us your impressions and the highlights of the commercial.

This time, I was happy to be able to take pictures with Nishikigoi Mr. Hasegawa and Mr. Watanabe. Both of them were so powerful that my throat hurt when I tried to raise my voice to avoid losing. The power was amazing.

Q: This will be Nishikigoi’s first appearance in a Lawson commercial. Please tell us how you felt when you received the offer to be in the commercial.

I couldn’t believe it at first. Three years ago, when I was shopping at Lawson, the current me appeared and said, “Three years from now, you’ll be in a Lawson commercial.”

Even if someone told me, “I’m leaving,” I probably wouldn’t believe it. It was unexpected. I was a little nervous because I was going to be with Mr. Matsuyama and Mr. Wang Lin today.

So far, appearing in a Lawson commercial has been my greatest filial piety. I’m glad we were able to be filial to each other while we were still alive. Also, I had heard that there was a light dance, but it was quite a difficult dance, and it was one of the most moving jobs I’ve ever done.

Q: Please tell us about your impression of Nishikigoi.

I’ve co-starred with him many times in variety shows, so I felt at ease and had fun filming as it felt like my family had come. However, unlike their appearances on variety shows, the two of them seemed a little nervous. When Mr. Watanabe was behind me, he said in a small voice, “Smile…Smile…Smile…” and I felt that I saw the two of them cuter than usual today.

Q: Please tell us about a recent happy event.

My hair should never be messy. When you’re filming outside in the summer, everyone gets soaked with sweat and it’s hard to handle your hair, but for me, all I had to do was wipe it off with a towel, so this was a good thing. Similarly, on windy days, everyone’s hair gets messy, but mine never gets messy.

Q: In the commercial, you can get a glimpse of Hasegawa-san’s various facial expressions, but please tell us about a recent moment when you felt a big emotional shift.

This is the moment when you can communicate with insects. In my everyday life, whenever I come across an insect or creature, I try to take a picture of it with my camera, and the other day, I saw an insect that looked like a praying mantis on a dead leaf. It noticed my presence and ran towards the dead leaves, but since I was watching and taking pictures of everything, I approached it and said, “I’ve seen it.” Then, it suddenly flew away. It was interesting because I’m really interested in communicating with living things and animals.

That’s when I learned about Kokera Sushi. Sushi is a local dish from Wakayama Prefecture, and has many layers.Even though humans can only see the top ingredients, people in the past went to the trouble of layering the ingredients inside. I was shocked by their delicate kindness and consideration, and it made me realize that I had forgotten this kind of heart recently. I learned from Kokera Sushi that you have to convey your message from the inside, not just from the outside.

When I ate eel in Shizuoka. When I went to a solo concert in Shizuoka, I wanted to eat eel, so I asked the audience for recommendations, so I asked the staff to buy some for me before I took the Shinkansen home and ate it. It was so delicious that for the first time, I burst into tears for reasons other than being sad or moved. However, I was most happy when the Lawson commercial was decided.

Q: This commercial really makes you feel the autumn season of appetite, but what kind of autumn will this autumn be for you?

This year is already “Autumn of Masanori”. “Norinori Masanori” has actually been around for about 30 years.

That’s why I hope everyone will dance at school and work this year. I hope this commercial becomes popular.

I think I would like to make it “autumn to go out”. I’ve been stuck at home this summer, so I’d like to make this fall more active. Also, I would like to learn the entire “Norinori Masanori Dance” from beginning to end in the fall. During this shoot, I realized that the “Norinori Masanori Dance” was a very complex movement, and that Mr. Hasegawa was doing something at a high level, and it was very interesting.
