MEET YOUR ART FESTIVAL 2024 “NEW ERA”, one of the largest art festivals in Japan, was held in the Tennozu Canal area of Tokyo from October 11th (Friday) to October 14th (Monday/holiday), 2024. It ended with a crowd of 10,000 people.
“MEET YOUR ART FESTIVAL” brings together adjacent cultures such as music, food, fashion, and lifestyle, centered on art, to transcend boundaries and create an awareness of the appeal of each culture, as well as to increase appreciation for art. A cross-disciplinary art festival that aims to design new encounters and discoveries.
This time, the third time, a performative art exhibition, two art fairs, live performances, talk sessions, and an art market will be held simultaneously at seven venues, with more than 200 up-and-coming artists, curators, and directors participating in the festival. Participated. Three curators from a new generation are active in the art exhibition “SSS: Super Spectrum Specification,” which has attracted attention for its performative experience that expresses the continuity in which things always happen and are linked in a city. Mirai Moriyama also participated as an artist. Together with artists who use a variety of expressions, from physical expression to works with social themes, we have created a place where coincidences constantly occur as visitors participate in the exhibition.
The art fair “MEET YOUR ARTISTS” brings together over 200 works by 44 up-and-coming artists from Japan and abroad, selected by MEET YOUR ART, and attempts to create a space that condenses Japan’s cultural scene. Many artists were in the gallery and enjoyed interacting with visitors.
Kanta Sato (Mizutari Bond Kanta) and Feeldog & Jinwoon, a unit made up of K-pop idols, also unveiled their works for the first time.CROSSOVER, an art fair where 18 galleries, curators, and art projects exhibited and sold contemporary art. Daichi Miura and music producer Nao’ymt will be on stage for a talk session with MEET YOUR ART MC Mirai Moriyama. In addition to unraveling the conceptual project “Sphere,” Miura will give a performance of “Sphere” for about an hour in the evening. In addition, there were performances by 14 musicians/DJs including Shinichi Osawa, MURO, and Night Tempo, as well as a market with menus from over 40 popular restaurants that cannot be reserved, such as DOLCE TACUBO pudding and La cime croissants. There will be plenty of content, including the first TOKYO ART MARKET, ELLE NIGHT CINEMA along the canal, and exhibitions featuring collaborations between various companies and art.
In addition to art exhibitions and art fairs, many visitors enjoyed talk sessions, live performances, art markets, food, and more throughout the day.In the end, the event drew over 50,000 people and ended on a high note.
Initiatives like MEET YOUR ART FESTIVAL are unprecedented both domestically and internationally.
Now in its third year, it can be said that it has become one of Japan’s leading art festivals.
