■ Ikimonogakari
On February 1, 1999, Yoshiki Mizuno and Hotaka Yamashita, who attended the same elementary, middle and high school, formed the band “Ikimonogakari”. The name of the unit comes from the fact that the two were in charge of feeding goldfish together as “animal caretakers” in their first year of elementary school.
They started performing on the streets in their hometowns of Atsugi and Ebina and along the Odakyu Line. On November 3, 1999, their classmate Yoshioka’s younger sister, Kiyoe Yoshioka, joined Ikimonogakari’s street performance, and the trio was formed. With Yoshioka as their powerful vocalist, the trio began to perform energetically in their hometowns of Atsugi and Ebina, and began to sell out their solo shows at live houses and halls.
Since making their major debut with “SAKURA” on March 15, 2006, they have released numerous hit songs such as “Arigatou,” “YELL,” “Bluebird,” and “Kaze ga Fuiteiru.”
They will start working as a duo in the summer of 2021.
Starting in February 2024, the group will hold their first nationwide hall tour in 12 years, “Ikimonogakari’s Everyone, Konnichiwa!! 2024 ~You! Me! Everyone! Singing Show!!~”. The additional performance at Yokohama Pia Arena was a great success. “HareHare!” has been selected as the opening theme for the TV anime “Asakusa Sakunahime” which will begin airing in July. In November, the 25th anniversary of the group’s formation, they will hold their first ever Budokan acoustic performance, “Ikimonogakari Street Live at Budokan”.
■Little Glee Monster
A female vocal group formed with the goal of leaving a lasting impression on people’s hearts with their refined singing voices.
Armed with a powerful singing voice and a crystal clear harmony that can sing even advanced a cappella, they made their major debut in 2014 with “After School High Five”. In 2017, they performed their first solo concert at the Budokan, and supported Earth, Wind & Fire and Ariana Grande, and appeared at the NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen for four consecutive years. In 2022, Mika, Yuumi, and miyou joined the group, and the second chapter began. They will release their 7th album “UNLOCK!” on March 20, 2024, and hold a new national tour “Little Glee Monster Live Tour 2024 “UNLOCK!” from March 30. In addition, their new song “ORIGAMI” has been decided as the ending theme for the TV anime “Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin” which will start broadcasting in July 2024. They will continue to be active not only in Japan, and will celebrate their 10th anniversary of their debut in October 2024.
