AWA was launched as a subscription-based music streaming service on May 27, 2015. With the goal of creating special moments for everyone and making life more dramatic, we have expanded our range of experiences and are now celebrating our 9th anniversary. We would like to thank all of our users.

The special site features topics from AWA’s nine years of achievements, as well as information on new initiatives, events, and features to further support creators.

▼Number of songs distributed exceeds 150 million
The number of songs available for download, which started with 1.67 million at launch, has exceeded 150 million as of May 16, 2024. To date, we have provided a variety of experiences so that users can discover music that suits their tastes from among all the songs they would never be able to listen to in their lifetime, and the total number of songs that users have discovered has reached more than 220 million.

The lounge, which was opened so that everyone could enjoy the same music in the same space and at the same time, hosted over 1,000 artists, including NiziU, Travis Japan, THE RAMPAGE, Hinatazaka46, and Mai Kuraki, where they could interact directly with fans and enjoy new songs.

■ New initiatives

▼Increased basic gifting return rate at AWA Lounge and renewed achievement rewards
To further support creators’ activities, we have decided to increase the return rate for gifting earned in AWA Lounges by 5% from the current rate, starting June 4, 2024. (The new return rate applies to lounges that closed after midnight on June 4, 2024.)
In addition, the name of the achievement reward system “Furacha Rewards,” which can be received according to the monthly gifting amount, has been changed to “Flower Rewards,” and the achievement reward lineup has been expanded from the previous 7 to 11. In addition to the existing rewards such as outdoor vision posting and distribution equipment support, new rewards such as train carriage advertisements and original background music have been added. In addition, to commemorate the 9th anniversary, five achievement rewards, including studio recording and original music production, can be selected for a limited time. In addition, with this change, rewards that have already been earned will be reset, and all creators will be able to earn them again.

▼AWA to hold regular live concerts
In response to the positive response to AWA’s first live performance by V artists, “AWA NEXT STAGE LIVE,” held in May 2024, we have decided to hold live performances on a regular basis in the future. The live performance scheduled for the fall will not only feature a lineup of amazing V artists, but will also hold an event for ongoing AWA users to select the performers. Details will be announced in July.

▼ First live performance exclusively for singing and playing the guitar has been decided
AWA has also decided to hold an acoustic live show, spotlighting singer-songwriters, V-singers, and streamers who captivate fans with their “acoustic performances.” In addition, an event for the right to perform at the acoustic live show will be held at the AWA Lounge. Anyone who is able to stream in an acoustic format, regardless of whether they are a streamer or a singer-songwriter, can enter. Don’t miss the chance to perform live with a professional artist. ▼RKB Radio’s new music program appearance event begins
We will be holding an event with the chance to appear on RKB Radio’s new music program, which will begin airing in July 2024. Creators who are selected to appear at this event will be able to share their music and performances with listeners nationwide, including singing, playing instruments, airing original songs, and readings and talks that incorporate music. There will also be a chance to win some great rewards, such as a tie-up for the program’s ending theme, production of a program jingle, a “program jack” where they can appear alone on an entire week’s worth of the program, and the chance to appear on other regular RKB Radio programs.
In addition to the prize winners based on the number of points, this event will also have a new category for a “Director’s Award” in which the RKB Radio program director will watch the lounge of all those who streamed for a certain period of time and select the streamer who resonated with them the most. ▼Starting a new event called “ProMimi” where you can receive feedback from professional vocal instructors via audio streaming
The “#LookAtMe” event, in which Avex vocal instructors visit creators’ singing streams held at the AWA Lounge to judge their singing, has been renewed as “ProMimi.”
“Promimi” is a special stage event held in the AWA Lounge on the first and third Thursday of every month, where instructors listen to creators’ singing live and provide on-the-spot feedback through audio streaming. In previous “#LookAtMe” events, instructors used chat to identify strengths and offer singing advice, but by changing to a “Promimi” event, it is now possible to receive detailed feedback from instructors through audio streaming, allowing you to experience in a more realistic way the sensations that are difficult to grasp through comments alone.
The first entries for this event will open soon.

▼The “AWA CM Challenge” event will be held every month, where your voice will be featured in a commercial
We will be holding new events on a regular basis where you can win the right to appear as a narrator in AWA commercials aired on ABEMA.
This event is based on the desire to give more people a chance to grab the prize, and is limited to those who have never won a prize in a condition-achieving event such as the “Self-Promotion Event” in the past. The first event is scheduled to run from June 11th to June 20th.

▼New feature “emorie” now available
We are launching a new feature called “emorie” that will strengthen the connection between creators and fans.
“emorie” is a feature that allows creators and fans to save the time they spent together and memorable events on a dedicated page prepared for each creator. Whether it was a happy event that happened during a stream in the AWA Lounge, a record of winning an event, or a moment of excitement together at a live show, various events related to the creator can be shared through images and text, whether it was inside or outside the AWA Lounge. This makes it possible to continue supporting creators even when they are not streaming, and to enjoy community activities with more people.
This feature has already been released on the Android app, and will soon be released on the iOS app. We also plan to expand the feature further in the future.
