AWA, a subscription-based music streaming service operated by AWA Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Akimi Togashi), has released a playlist of songs themed around “Still Water” by Ovall, a trio band consisting of Shingo Suzuki, mabanua, and Shingo Sekiguchi.

The playlist released this time was created to commemorate the release of the 4th album “Still Water”, and the songs are selected with the theme of “Still Water”. ■Ovall
A trio band consisting of Shingo Suzuki, mabanua, and Sekiguchi Shingo.
A multi-player group in which all members are also active as solo artists, musicians, and producers. Since 2006, the current members have been working in earnest, and to this day, they have maintained an attitude of placing musicianship above genre. They place jazz, soul, hip-hop, and rock on the same level, seamlessly moving back and forth between live performance and sampling, and throwing sounds into an oval groove. Their innovative style and unique sound gradually attracted the times, and they were inundated with requests for production and collaboration from domestic and international filmmakers, film directors, and various artists. Each member became more active in solo activities, but their busy schedules became a double-edged sword, and in 2013 they suspended their band activities and began to pursue their own expressions. However, there was constant demand for “an ensemble unique to these three people,” and the members responded to that desire, and after four years, they restarted in 2017. Immediately after, they performed at large domestic festivals such as “FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL”, collaborated with artists from all over the world, and performed live tours overseas.
Each member brings to the table the skills and know-how they have acquired through their solo activities, and the band continues to roll along in an elliptical pattern today.
