Hakubi Unveils Tracklist for March Mini AL Release

Kyoto’s very own three-piece band, Hakubi, has unveiled the tracklist and jacket photo for their upcoming mini album “throw,” set to release on March 13th.

Hakubi – Mini Album “throw” (Official Trailer)

This release includes three singles released in 2023: “Haikei,” “Saishuu Densha,” and the character song “Soumatou” from the smartphone game “Memento Mori.” In addition to these, the album features seven tracks in total, including “Decadance,” a song about the turmoil of interpersonal relationships, and “Heart Beat,” a new track already gaining support in live performances, famously known as “the song still unnamed.”

The album jacket is designed using photos taken by Vo/Gt Katagiri, resulting in a striking, abstract cover that beautifully encapsulates the theme of ‘light,’ available in both a limited edition and a regular version.

Though targeted for the Japanese market, exclusive CD purchase bonuses have also been announced. These include a postcard with a download code for live recordings, an original design acrylic key holder, and picks, offered as first-come-first-served gifts with the CD.

Having performed at numerous events and live shows since the beginning of the year, Hakubi’s momentum shows no signs of slowing down. Keep an eye on Hakubi in 2024, as they continue to captivate the music scene.

Artist Profile: Hakubi

Vo./Gt. Katagiri, Ba. Yasukawa Aru, Dr. Matsui Yuuki. Formed in 2017, Hakubi is a three-piece band emerging from Kyoto.

Actively performing nationwide, with a focus on their hometown Kyoto, the band has garnered a following for the straightforward lyrics and powerful vocals of Vo/Gt. Katagiri, which seem to suppress his vulnerability. Their music video “”Yume no Tsuzuki”” (Continuation of a Dream) has surpassed 3.3 million views on YouTube. In 2020, their song “”Gozen 4 Ji, SNS”” (4 AM, SNS) ranked 4th in the USEN Indie Year-End Rankings.

Their major debut album “”era,”” released on September 8, 2021, won an award in the CD Shop Awards 2022. They also ranked 5th in Nippon Television’s “”Buzz Rhythm 02″” segment “”This Will Buzz in 2022,”” marking them as one of the most notable new-generation bands.

Hakubi has been featured in major festivals across the country, including VIVA LA ROCK, OTODAMA〜Otoizumi Tamashii〜, Kyoto Taisakusen, and JOIN ALIVE. Some of their performances have been so popular they required entrance restrictions, demonstrating their unstoppable momentum live.

Their first hall concert at Ebisu The Garden Hall in November last year was an immediate sell-out!

In March 2023, they released their 2nd full album “”Eye,”” followed by a nationwide album tour in April, concluding successfully at LINE CUBE SHIBUYA.

In August, they hosted their third self-organized festival ‘Kyoto Geigeki 2023’ at the KBS Hall in their hometown Kyoto, the largest scale yet.Their first performances at Zepp Haneda and Namba Hatch in November were both sold out, further proving their growing popularity.
