Tatsuru Sakuma releases his first EP “Local Asian Plants” and performance video

Tatsuru Sakuma released his first EP, “Local Asian Plants,” on Friday, July 26th.

Tatsuru Sakuma is a rising artist based in Sapporo, Hokkaido. After providing beats for a friend’s video work, he started making music in earnest, and released two singles in June, his first single “After Hood” and “Minamoto”.

This first EP contains a total of five songs, including the single mentioned above. It is a work that incorporates the essence of everyday life into beats created using various approaches. In addition, this time, he handled everything from the beats to the mixing and mastering himself.

The artwork was photographed by Shohei Uda, and the title design was by Ryo Kobayashi. A performance video was also released at the same time as the release. It features three songs from the EP, “HOMERUN”, “PSYCHO”, and “TEXTILE”, and was filmed in the atelier where Tatsuru Sakuma usually gathers with his friends.

As with previous music videos, Shohei Uda was in charge of video direction, DJing, lighting, and editing. The photography was handled by his friend Yuta Tachibana, and he once again handled the styling himself.
