DÉ DÉ MOUSE × MON/KU release collaboration song “Awful” A song that captures emotions in everyday life

The collaborative single “Awful” by DÉ DÉ MOUSE and MON/KU was released today, Wednesday, July 31st.

DÉ DÉ MOUSE continues to release works through various projects, such as collaborations with Hitomitoi, Haraguchi Sasuke, CHERRYBOY FUNCTION, the unit Tiny Griffi with Shin-Ski, and the unit nite pianos with KOHEI YOSHII. This time, his collaborator is MON/KU, a young leader of epic collage/post-shoegaze who also worked on the soundtrack for the anime “Kaiju No. 8” and whose first album “MOMOKO blooms in 1.26D” released last year drew attention from all quarters.

The song starts with a sad piano, and is impressive with its dramatic development, full of cathartic moments, as if suppressed emotions are exploding, and granular synths that seem to run through your head, emotional cut-up voices that seem to endure sadness, and a sad, dramatic development. According to the press release, the song is a slice-of-life piece that captures the emotions we experience in our daily lives, such as regrets and sad experiences that everyone experiences in life.
