Haruno, an internet-based singer-songwriter/producer who has been attracting attention from overseas, especially in Asia, including his first overseas solo tour in March, which was a success, held his first domestic solo tour in about a year, “HARUNO 2024 TOUR”. This article reports on the final day of the tour, which ended with great success.
Live performance scaled up after China tour
Chill instrumental music played in the venue, and Haruno herself appeared and performed the first song, a collaboration with Vocaloid producer Yunosuke, “Project Sekai Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku.”
This is a self-cover version of the song “Supernova” that he wrote for “AKB48”. This song was released digitally in June and is a song that Haruno, a former Vocaloid producer, has a particularly strong attachment to. “I’m Haruno, nice to meet you!” The excitement in the venue rose in response to Haruno’s voice.
Next, they performed the 2-step number “cash out feat. brb”, a collaboration with brb., the most popular R&B band in Singapore, and “OVERTIME”, which has been a long-running hit mainly in Asia since its release in May this year. As Haruno encouraged them with “Ready, go!”, the fans who had been waiting for their first Tokyo solo concert in a year erupted in cheers of “OVERTIME, OVERTIME”.
“Veats Shibuya is going to be crazy, so please come along!” After the MC, Haruno performed “EGO”, a collaboration with AGO, a Tokyo-based producer who has worked with SIRUP, BE:FIRST, Furui Riho, Chiaki Sato, and others. When Haruno sat down at the piano and the intro to the four-on-the-floor dance number “Buddha” started, the audience erupted in cheers.
“For the next song, I want you all to take a video of Haruno looking incredibly cool, so I’ll allow you to film.” As the crowd gasps in surprise, the lights from their smartphones light up the auditorium. The intro to the hugely popular song “Limbo” starts, and the fans erupt into thunderous cheers. “Can you all sing?” “Limbo!” A chorus of voices echoes through the venue.
“It’s okay, you can still take pictures.” The floor was lit up with moonlight-like lights, and they performed “Dance At The Moonlight” featuring singer-songwriter kojikoji, and the popular song “D(evil)”, a collaboration with musician yama. “You can sing the chorus, right?” Haruno’s voice signaled, and the fans sang along in unison throughout the venue.
After just a few songs, Haruno had the whole venue under her control. After her China tour in March and her appearance as the opening act for HONNE’s China concert in April, Haruno’s live performance had grown in scale, and the audience was united in the moment.
Next, HISA (Gt.) performed the comfortable “UFO” with his mellow guitar. Haruno’s enveloping silky vocals and HISA’s guitar intertwine, filling the venue with an ecstatic atmosphere.
Special guest Sato Chiaki appeared and the excitement in the venue reached its peak.
The excitement in the venue intensified as “Venus Flytrap feat. Sato Chiaki” (from the first album, The Lover) began. “Now, let’s introduce today’s guest, Sato Chiaki! Please welcome her with a big round of applause,” Haruno said in her MC. As special guest Sato Chiaki appeared, the venue erupted in cheers. As Haruno encouraged her with “Bakamitai na,” a chorus of “Woo Ai ni!” rang out throughout the venue. During the interlude, Haruno and Sato Chiaki performed a heart pose, and the venue erupted in thunderous cheers.
Since its release in 2023, the song has been performed at every live concert and continues to capture the hearts of fans. As Haruno said, “Finally, the person himself came,” the excitement in the venue reached its peak at their first live performance.
Next, HISA’s dreamy guitar reverberated through the venue, and they performed the chill and smooth tracks “summer,” “Love Affair,” and “Kidding Me.” The venue was entranced by Haruno’s silky singing voice.
After saying, “I wanted to play songs that I’ve never played before on this tour,” he performed “Grumpy,” a song he wrote for MAISONdes. The chill song raised the excitement on the floor once again. He then performed “Spring Has Come,” a song he co-wrote with TAKU INOUE, which was released in April.
The main part of the show was a great success, and the venue was filled with generous applause. Since last year’s Tokyo solo performance (July 15, 2023, Daikanyama UNIT), Haruno has steadily increased her fan base and continued to step up. It was a wonderful live performance that gave a glimpse of the next stage.
Special guest tonun appears and performs the new song “Soooo Many Problems”
After saying “Thank you for the encore” and “For the next song, as you know, the best guest will be performing,” they performed the highly anticipated collaboration song “Soooo Many Problems feat. tonun,” released in July. After a sing-along interlude, special guest tonun appeared, followed by Harun’s MC, “It’s tonun, give us a big round of applause!” The fans erupted in cheers, and tonun’s sweet, smoky singing voice reverberated throughout the venue. The wonderful harmony between the two, who had been eager to collaborate, brought the venue together as one.
“Bye! See you in the next life.” The wonderful harmony between the two echoed through the venue, and when the song ended, the audience once again gave them a generous round of applause.
The last song was “Angels” from the first album. It has become a standard encore song at each performance. The audience was intoxicated by Haruno’s singing voice. “That was Haruno, thank you very much.” The song ended, and the audience gave the biggest applause of the day.
Since starting her career in 2017, Haruno has captured the hearts of fans with her diverse songs that fully display her multifaceted talents and her amazing live performances. She has steadily expanded the scale of her activities, performing overseas and collaborating with a variety of artists both in Japan and overseas. The final performance of her second domestic solo tour was a spectacular close, with special guests Chiaki Sato and tonun appearing. It was a fantastic performance that already hinted at Harun’s next stage.
