The collaborative single “RHAN” by Taiwanese rapper/singer/multi-instrumentalist VUIZE and Japanese singer-songwriter/producer Ai Kakihira was released today, Wednesday, August 7th.
This is the second collaboration between the two, and the fourth song born at the co-write camp “Co-Write DAY” held in Itoshima, Fukuoka last year. The track is driven by VUIZE’s warm acoustic guitar, and the rap with Japanese language mixed in, and Ai Kakihira’s floating electronica sound and vocals make this an impressive song. It was completed with inspiration from Fukuoka and Itoshima, where the two first met.
The release will be made by AZIAFLY, a label born from Co-Write Day.

“RHAN” was completed by receiving a lot from the way of life of the people I met in Itoshima and Fukuoka, as well as from the nature of Itoshima.
From the gentle guitar of VUIZE, everything was like magic, and the song was created as if it was all decided from the beginning. All the sounds that were ringing at that time and place created “RHAN”, so I used the sounds recorded on the iPhone voice recorder as they were. This song was undoubtedly created by Itoshima.

“RHAN” is a summary of the time I spent in Fukuoka. It’s about a special place, Itoshima, and all the wonderful people I met there. It was the first collaborative project I participated in with Ai-chan, and the whole experience was truly magical. In Cabinets in Itoshima, I feel like me, Ai-chan, and Sven created a very intimate and warm little world. I hope “RHAN” will be a memory of that special time.
