1e1 releases 2nd EP “Asymptote” today, featuring MÖSHI, Takai Ibuki, Shioiri Fuyuko and others

1e1 (Yell), the solo project by Dan Kubo, released his second EP, “Asymptote,” today, Wednesday, August 14th.

1e1 is also a member of the creative collective Laastc. The concept of this work is “Chimera Kinema” (= interdigitated film), and it was inspired by the vague figure of French inventor Léon Bly, who is said to have invented the continuous film camera, the precursor to the movie projector, and was created with the aim of inventing a way to survive in the ever-changing waves of pop culture.

Featuring artists include MÖSHI, samayuzame, Takai Ibuki, Shioiri Fuyuko (FINLANDS), artwork by Kishi Hiromasa, and mastering by Kazuki Muraoka (Adapt Records), making this his largest EP release to date with the largest number of guest appearances.

The artwork by Kishi Hiroma, a contemporary artist who mainly works on sculptures and digital works using artificial intelligence, is a graphic work created using a generative algorithm with a lack of learning data based on the only low-resolution image of a portrait of Leon Bly that can be found on the Internet.
