ONENESS announces the release of their new album "Original ONES" and releases a pre-release single

ONENESS, a hip-hop collective from Heiwajima, Tokyo, has announced the release of their new album, “Original ONES.” The lead single from the album, “Saturday Night Special 2,” will be released on Tuesday, August 20th.

ONENSS is a collective with a diverse range of members, including rappers, beatmakers, and creators who work on artwork. The group is known for the skillful raps of three rappers with different personalities: MVTEN, stz, and 7AWERA. In 2022, they released the album “RARE COIL,” and have produced many solo works and DJ mixes by each member. In addition to music, they also work on apparel, and express themselves from various angles with a DIY stance.

The lead single “Saturday Night Special 2” is their first new song since “Autumn Follow (feat. Äura)” in 2023. It is a boom-bap number with a beat produced by member Phaze1992, and is a rap about their current feelings about entering a new chapter with the theme of “Gate of Trials” on a beat that uses heroic horns. In the second half of the song, member S2 shows off some sharp scratches. The vocal material from “Saturday Night Special” from Phaze1992’s first album after joining ONENESS, “Colors”, is inserted.

The music video for “Saturday Night Special 2” is also scheduled to be released on the same day as the release.

We thought this song was a signature song for us, so we chose it as the lead single from our new album. It was like, “This has to be the first song we play at a live show.”
When the MCs shared what came to mind when they listened to the track, the word “gate” came up, so we decided on the theme of “Gate of Trials,” which is a common theme at the beginning of many stories.
This song combines that excitement of the story about to begin with the feeling that, after being players for over 10 years, we are once again standing at the gate of a new trial.
