showmore releases pre-release single "fruit" from new album "liquid city"

showmore released their new single “fruit” today, Wednesday, August 21st.

This is a melancholic number that compares the relationship between two people that is coming to an end to ripe fruit. The lyrics recall the happy moments of the past, but also describe the suffocating feeling of “stewed jam” and the bitterness of facing the reality of a changed relationship.

The recording was done with the participation of his regular live band members, Shotaro Tamaki (bass), Taihei (drums), and Jouzo Yamada (trumpet), resulting in a song that has an adult atmosphere but also a smooth, danceable groove.

Showmore will release a single from their fourth album “Liquid City” on Wednesday, September 11th, their first in about three years. Starting in the same month, they will also be holding a national tour with a band set, visiting six cities: Sendai, Sapporo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Tokyo.

The tour finale will be held at LIQUIDROOM in Ebisu, Tokyo, where showmore had been aiming to hold a solo concert when they were formed, and in February 2020 they successfully sold out a solo concert to promote their second album, “Too Close to Know,” but the COVID-19 pandemic hit soon after. Despite not being able to perform as they had hoped, they continued to release and perform live shows steadily, and are now returning to the venue for their first solo concert in four and a half years.
