NTT Docomo, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as Docomo) is promoting the Japan Coast Guard’s emergency call number “118”* With this goal in mind, we collaborated with the outdoor brand Helly Hansen in cooperation with the Japan Coast Guard.Capsule Collection “118”(pronounced: Ichi Ichi Hachi) will begin accepting preorders from Friday, September 6th.
This collection is the first capsule collection created to raise awareness of the emergency number 118, in cooperation with the Japan Coast Guard, which operates the emergency number 118 at sea. It is a collaboration between Docomo, which has been working on various measures to connect people at sea, and Helly Hansen, which has been pursuing waterproof technology and developing innovative products for 140 years since its founding. The image model is IO, a rapper from KANDYTOWN who also works as an art/film director and model.
The lineup of items for sale this time includes a waterproof jacket, long-sleeve T-shirt, full-zip hoodie and tote bag, all with a logo based on the core idea of ”118″. The items will be available at participating Helly Hansen stores nationwide.*3 Orders will be accepted until Monday, November 4th, with product delivery scheduled for after October.
*1: The Japan Coast Guard has had the emergency call number “118” in place for over 20 years, but of the calls that actually come in to “118,” about 99% are mistaken or prank calls (Japan Coast Guard “24/01/12 ‘For “incidents and accidents” at sea, call 118!’ ~January 18th is “118 Day”~”).
