This BGM is the third installment of “SWEET AUDIO,” a completely original music production service by “Sponge Bang Bang” that uses sounds that are unique to the artist and the sounds of things he likes. This time, in addition to the sounds of his actions as a painter, he used the sounds of his favorite spot, Koishikawa Botanical Garden, and his beloved cat, Mittens, to create music that matches the concept of his solo exhibition. Based on the concept of the music, “sound, an expansion of the senses, and the subtle shadows visible from the tip of the brush,” he combined several methods, including parts that are played as is, parts that are fed into a granular synth and played randomly, and caricature-like uses that highlight the characteristics of the recordings.

“Sponge Bang Bang” is a creative sampling collective led by Kou Ando. They have attracted attention for their work on projects such as the collaboration between Dos Monos and the popular manga “Dai Dark” by Q Hayashida, and the unique remake of “Nihon Zenkoku Sakanomi Ondo” (1979) by CHO CO PA CO CHO CO QUIN QUIN.
