Bubble Love, a DJ set by ROSS FROM FRIENDS, will perform at the CYK 8th Anniversary Party

CYK’s 8th anniversary party will be held on Saturday, November 2nd at MIDNIGHT EAST (Spotify O-EAST/Higashimaya) in Shibuya, Tokyo.

This time, the guest will be Ross From Friends, AKA Felix Clary Weatherall, who performs a DJ set under the name Bubble Love. Ross From Friends released his early masterpiece “Talk To Me You’ll Understand” in 2016, when CYK was launched. The guitar riff of this song, which absorbed rave culture and was released as a new generation’s dream, was the highlight of the party when he performed with CYK in Tokyo in 2019.

Around this time, RFF released music on Brainfeeder and rose to stardom, and even non-fans will know about their recent self-label Scarlet Tiger and their performances on numerous big stages. CYK also established themselves in Japan and Asia, starting with their Tokyo-based house parties and appearances at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL and Rainbow Disco Club.

This party is an epochal reunion between the two groups, who built their careers at the same time, after a five-year hiatus. The opening act for this event will be Kyoto-based DJ/producer and head of the label NC4K, Stones Taro. A friend of CYK, he plays music inspired by 90s house, UK garage, and jungle, and is receiving passionate love calls from both the Japanese and UK scenes, and is really stepping up his career in both name and reality.

Another person guiding the night will be kenchan, who has been watching over CYK since the early days of their career, as their VJ.

At Higashimaya, DSKE, the resident DJ of MOTORPOOL, a famous party at Contact that remains in the hearts of Tokyo clubbers even after it has closed, EOU, who is based in West Harlem, Kyoto and has been honing his seamless expression and activities, Pixie, who belongs to the record shop rare groove in Osaka, and discopants, who will be performing at CYK for the first time since 2020, spanning Kanazawa and Tokyo. All of these people are skilled individuals who have had close ties and interactions with CYK/its individual members over the past eight years.

The venue will be MIDNIGHT EAST, the big venue where CYK ALL NIGHT LONG was held in 2022. Don’t miss this epoch-making night that will be the culmination of CYK to date.
