A split performance by Korean synth-pop band ADOY and Taiwanese R&B singer/SSW ?te (Whyte) will be held at Billboard Live YOKOHAMA in Kanagawa on Monday, October 28th.
ADOY, who released his first EP “CATNIP” in 2017, won the “Special Jury Award” at the “Seoul Music Awards 2019”, where BTS won the grand prize. He is a symbol of the recent boom in “K-INDIE”, which is different from “K-POP”, having successfully performed live in various Asian countries and Europe and the United States. He has gained support for his modern and sophisticated pop sound that captures the ears of a wide range of listeners, while exuding a mellow, floating feeling that evokes the essence of the 80s.
Meanwhile, Whyte, whose roots lie in jazz and soul, won the Best Alternative Pop Album award at the Golden Indie Music Awards in Taiwan for his second album, Way out, in 2023. He also recently participated in Elephant Gym’s fourth full-length album, WORLD, released this year. The combination of his smoky, warm voice and comfortable jazzy sound is sure to stand out in an intimate club space.
