Tete, a notable rapper from Nagasaki, releases his second album “Matsuma”

Tete, a rapper from Hirado City, Nagasaki Prefecture, released his second album, Murasaki, on Friday, August 31st.

Born in 2000, Tete began his musical career in 2018 with members of his current crew RSH (River Side Hollywood), and released his first album “Purple Way” in January of this year and his first EP “to Subaru” in May of the same year.

Below is his comment from the press release.

I started making this album around 2010-2011, and I wrote all the songs myself, and I didn’t have any guest appearances. My main theme was to express my feelings about my past, present, and future in a single album, like a slideshow.
When writing the lyrics, I focused on conveying emotions by describing the scene vividly and vividly.
My style is not one to directly express emotions, but I tried to carefully depict the beauty and transience of detailed scenes more than in my previous works.
In terms of composition, I focused on creating a sound that evokes a Japanese feel as the beat theme.
Instead of the samurai, cherry blossoms, and cyberpunk vibes that foreigners might have, I focused on expressing the Japanese feel of silver grass swaying in the wind, and not just the beach, but docks, fishing ports, rocky shores, and the lush Japanese mountains, which are things that only someone born and raised in Japan would understand.
