It has been announced that Shota Aratani will release his new single “Yoka” on Friday, September 13th.
Shota Aratani, known as the former vocalist of yonawo, released his major debut single “Ame” from Universal Music’s Polydor Records in August. The title of this work has a double meaning of the dialect of Fukuoka and Kyushu, where Aratani is from, “Yoka” and “Leisure”, and the song is said to be a combination of warm lyrics and sounds that gently embrace people.
In addition, from 9pm on the day of the release, the special studio live video of “Yoka”, which was previously available for a limited time, will be re-released. Check it out along with the song.
In addition to “Yoka”, the first EP “26” will be released on October 4th (Friday) as an analog record only at the tour venues, and will include the singles “Ame”, “Namida” and “Shion”, as well as the unreleased “Focus” and “Love”. The artwork was created by Nomoto Takafumi of yonawo, and was specially created with Araya as the motif. The disc will be a limited edition clear salmon pink vinyl.

I wanted to express myself as I am, so I used the word “yoka” (meaning good) from the dialect of my hometown, Fukuoka and Kyushu, for the song title and lyrics.
We have put into the song the message, “It’ll be okay, though,” which includes the strength to say, “It’ll be okay someday,” as well as the weakness of those who cannot shake off the anxiety of wondering whether that “someday” will ever come.
