It has been announced that Tokyo-based rapper AOTO will release his new EP “NEED, NEED & NEED” on Wednesday, September 11th.
This work is positioned as a sequel to “THE90PUGGY” released last year. The theme of this work is that money, power, respect, and music are not just “hope” but are “essential,” but the feeling that they have turned into anger.
As AOTO himself said, “The underlying theme is the energy I felt around 2018-19 before I started making music, and I wondered how to sublimate it into Japanese rap now,” and it is a work that also has experimental elements. Guest appearances include super-balanced rapper gummyboy from Mall Boyz, kegøn who gives off a cyber-energy of Japan narrative, and yoyou who continues to decorate everyday life freely. The track was produced by Hikikomori Sound Shop’s M-3, and the artwork was done by Pop Junkie Boy’s sota mori (sage).
In addition, a release party for this work will be held at CIRCUS Tokyo in Shibuya, Tokyo on Sunday, October 27th. The last time it was a one-man event, but this time there will be guests.
