It has been announced that okkaaa will release his new album, “Whistle Monologue,” on Wednesday, November 27th.
Okkaaa is a self-produced artist with various creative aspects centered on music, such as artist, writer, photographer, video director, etc. This album, which is the first in about two years since the previous album “Voyage”, is a conceptual and ambitious work consisting of a total of 14 songs, including the five singles released since 2022, eight new songs, and one retake.
The title is a combination of the departure siren “steam whistle” and monologue, and was chosen with the hope that the siren that sounds when we face social or personal problems should be like the ship’s “steam whistle” that encourages our own growth and progress. He expresses his own songs not only through music but also through novels, and his lyrical and imaginative lyrics are also attracting attention as he publishes his writings as a writer.

Where does self-awareness about social issues come from? It may be because I come across various painful news in my daily life, or I find out that an acquaintance is speaking out on social media. When I come into contact with such awareness and self-awareness begins, a siren sounds inside me, and a monologue begins. I don’t want that siren to warn of an emergency, but a siren like the “whistle” of a ship that moves me forward. And I feel like this “whistle” is everywhere. A “whistle” that starts from a wish or prayer, when you are in a hurry and don’t have the heart to look out over the world, you can’t hear someone else’s “whistle”.
