Black Petrol releases their first new song in about two years, “Howlin’ Collective” today

Black petrol released their first new single in about two years, “Howlin’ collective,” today, Wednesday, September 18th.

Black petrol is an experimental hip-hop band that performed at “SUMMER SONIC 2024” last year and appeared at the newcomer gateway stage “ROOKIE A GO-GO” at “FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL ’24” this year. This work shows the current state of Black petrol, who have left Kyoto, where the band was formed, and have repeatedly updated and expressed themselves beyond the range of numerous musical genres. The highly free-form band performance based on jazz is intertwined with the unique raps of MCs ONISAWA and SOMAOTA, resulting in a song that is full of Black petrol’s unique style.

[Black petrol comment]

For the past two years since PLUS ONE, we have been thinking about what we can do in this era. We couldn’t find an answer, so we recorded our “cry” as it is at the present time.
It doesn’t have to be stylish, just our music as it is, and we express it sincerely. To be real.
