U-zhaan × mabanua, a song written over 10 years ago, is now available as a recording in collaboration with VENDER WOH!

The new single “VENDER WOH!” by U-zhaan × mabanua was released today, September 25th (Wednesday). The music video was also released.

U-zhaan, who plays the tabla, a traditional North Indian percussion instrument, with ease, and mabanua, a multi-creator/drummer who is active across genres. The two met in 2011. Since then, as a unique percussion unit, they have performed at numerous festivals and live shows, including the FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL. In April of last year, they released their first song, “Fluffy,” 10 years after their formation, which caused a big stir, and now they have announced their second single, their first in about a year and a half.

This work is an art project brand by designer Takeshi Fukuyama, who is also known for his costume and stage designs for Hanaregumi and Clammbon, and interior designer Akiko Fukuyama.This is a collaborative work with U-zhaan. The two first interacted after working on U-zhaan’s costumes, which led to this collaboration.

The song is centered around percussion instruments, but is also somewhat melodic. The original music video, which matches the artwork, was supervised by VENDER WOH!.

“VENDER WOH!” is a design team consisting of designers Takeshi Fukuyama and Akiko Fukuyama. They not only create clothing, but also a variety of other designs.
I am a fan of “VENDER WOH!”. I have been following Takeshi Fukuyama’s work ever since I first saw his clothes in Kichijoji 23 years ago. I am always impressed by his unique ideas and the tenacity with which he turns those ideas into reality.
“VENDER WOH!” has already been highly praised in various fields, but I’ve always wanted more people to know about its unique existence. So I suggested to mabanua that we make the title of this song “VENDER WOH!”
“It matches the atmosphere of the song, it’s great!” said mabanua, so I contacted Fukuyama and asked him to make a music video just to promote the product we made. That was in March 2022. “I’m so happy! I’ll have it completed in about two months!” he readily agreed, and I was looking forward to it.
I never thought it would take two and a half years, let alone two months, to complete the music video. I’m relieved that it’s finally been released. I hope people will like both the song “VENDER WOH!” and the design team’s “VENDER WOH!”.

A song that I wrote with U-zhaan over 10 years ago has finally been released on audio.
When this was combined with the eccentric worldview of Mr. Fukuyama, a mysterious world was created.
