TORIENA released her new album “Ken-gai” on Wednesday, September 25th.
In addition to her own solo projects, TORIENA is a self-produced artist who is also involved in a variety of activities, including providing music for other artists’ commercials, games, etc. Most recently, she attracted attention for composing the opening theme song (lyrics by Tsunku, arrangement by Kishida Yuki) for the TV anime series “Maebashi Witches,” which will begin airing in April 2025.
This is his 10th album and contains 13 songs including the lead single “End of the World”. It is a work that delves into his inner self with a shoegaze sound as its core.
About love and humidity. Wanting to be free from the loneliness of not being able to fit in with society since I was a child, I would close my eyes in bed, put on earphones and listen to music.
I want to make it an album that becomes that music.
I’d like the person I was back then, or someone similar to me, to listen to this.
I want to hold someone’s hand and comfort them through these recordings when they feel lonely.
I want to get closer to each person as much as possible, but in reality, that’s impossible. But by putting my honest feelings into my songs, I can copy my alter ego as a work. I’ve always thought that by getting closer to each person, that wish will come true. At this point, this album is the culmination of that.
