ONJUICY and nonomi’s collaborative single “My Paper Planes” was released today, October 30th (Wednesday).
ONJUICY is a Japanese rapper who boldly challenges the fusion of the latest dance music and hip-hop, starting with grime. In 2024, they are expanding their activities globally, including holding the “Suara Festival 2024” held in Bali, Indonesia, and an Asian tour including a performance in Taiwan.
This work was co-written with nonomi, a producer from Peru who lives in Japan and has provided many songs for ONJUICY. The refreshing guitar arpeggios and breakbeats based on drum’n’bass and jungle are impressive, and the lyrics are a homage to MIA’s “Paper Planes” released in 2008. The cartoon-style artwork is by Meijin Fujiko, who is also a member of Kokushi Musou.
