It has been announced that okkaaa will release their 2nd album “Kakebue Monologue” on November 27th (Wednesday).
okkaaa is a self-produced artist who is an artist, writer, photographer, video director, and other creators with a focus on musicians. This work is a work in which okkaaa, who listens to his inner voice and travels in search of something that shakes his heart like a train whistle, expresses through music his wavering self-consciousness in society and his conflicts as an artist. It is said to be a very delicate, yet strong, conceptual work consisting of 14 songs that is like a collection of poems about a journey in search of a connection with the future.
It is said that he has created music with a unique sense of balance, intertwining left-field electro expressions that come from his own digital native context, J-POP melodies, and poetic essence.
On November 13th (Wednesday), the title song “Train Whistle Monologue” from this work will be distributed in advance. Advance reservations have also started. In addition, to commemorate the album release, it has been decided that a one-man live will be held at Shimokitazawa SPREAD in Tokyo on January 13th (Monday, holiday). Tickets are on sale starting today.

Where does self-awareness about social issues come from? It may have been because I was exposed to various painful news in my daily life, or it may have been from when I learned that an acquaintance was speaking out on social media. When I come into contact with such issues and begin to feel self-aware, a siren goes off inside me, and from there my monologue begins. And I want that siren not to be a siren that warns of an emergency situation, but a siren like the “steam whistle” of a ship that propels you forward. And I feel like this “steam whistle” is everywhere. The “train whistle” that starts from wishes and prayers becomes inaudible when someone doesn’t have the time and the heart to look around the world. Above all, it is you who will sound the whistle for your own departure. I would like to share with everyone the “Steam Whistle Monologue”, which is a monologue that occurs after the “Steam Whistle” sounds, as an important theme for living in this day and age.
