This work, which was released to commemorate his 10th anniversary, is a follow-up to his one-man live “art of mani mani at WWW X” held at WWW X in Shibuya, Tokyo with the mini album “mani mani” in November last year Contains sound sources. The artwork is by photographer Jun Watanabe.
“mani mani” is an EP containing 7 songs that freely move between synth pop, EDM, breakbeats, ambient, etc. The title “mani mani” is inspired by the ancient Japanese word “manimani,” which means “as it happens” and “as it happens.” The first verse has a positive meaning: “When faced with events in life that are beyond one’s control, one affirms the outcome.”
Sound designers Sountrive and So Kanno (BREIMEN) were invited as support musicians for the live performance, and they performed songs such as “It’s So Natural feat. AAAMYYY”, which was released during the coronavirus pandemic, and “Hanaen feat. Chinza DOPENESS”, which was co-written with LISACHRIS. The songs were also performed for the first time in front of the audience, with the artists themselves as guests.
Maika Loubté herself was in charge of the mixing of this work, and it is said that the work is packed with the tranquility and excitement of the day. He commented, “It surpasses the original song. It’s all thanks to everyone.” Why not listen to it and compare it with the studio sound source?
