ermhoi released their new single “Ginger Island” today, November 18th (Monday).
In addition to his activities with black boboi and MILLENNIUM PARADE, ermhoi has been actively involved in collaborations, sessions, and projects with various artists in recent years. This is their first new song in about a year and a half since their album Junebug Rhapsody was released last year, and it is similar to and different from their previous works, with a more organic and nature-oriented sound approach that stands out. .
Ermhoi’s voice is as natural as he sings about the selectable contrasts of “Tokyo” and “Farm.” While it is accompanied by fantasy elements such as the rich earth, forests, sun, and fairies that remind us of one of her roots in Ireland, she has a positive sense of balance that stands out as a result of her various activities centered around Tokyo. It’s a unique song with a melancholy feel to it.
Allied friends such as Shun Ishiwaka (Dr.), Utena Kobayashi (Steel Pan), Marty Holoubek (Ba.), and Aikimen (Per.) participated in the song. Mixed by Taiji Okuda of studio MSR, mastered by Norman Nitzsche.
[ermhoi comment]
The concept is escapism. This song has the image of looking at the reality that you escape from once, but then end up returning to, with a calm but affection.
