UMI released their new single “Butterfly II” today, November 26th (Tuesday).
SSW/UMI is from Seattle, USA, and has roots in Japan. His collaboration song “Wherever ur” with BTS’s V, released in December last year, and the single “Lucky” released as part of the Pokémon music project “Pokémon Music Collective” with Nulbarich and Sunny also attracted attention.
This song was suddenly released on SoundCloud earlier this month, and is a sequel to “Butterfly” released in 2018. UMI’s pleasant vocals overlap with the bright guitar riff, creating a happy and energetic piece unique to UMI.
In addition, this work contains a powerful message from UMI that “tough times don’t last forever,” and the importance of accepting that “you’re not okay” at times, and that things gradually become positive over time. This is a song that gently teaches us how to move forward.
UMI plans to release their second studio album in 2025. I would like to pay attention to his future activities.
