KBSNK and Inu’s collaborative single “SUMMER TIME” will be released on November 27th (Wednesday).
Inu is known for his collaborations with producer KBSNK, who is also known for his work with the unit TEMPLIME, and his own solo project releases, as well as collaborations with Hoshimiya, AssToro, and others. This song was self-produced by both of them, from songwriting, arrangement, and engineering.
The lyrics are written in separate time axes, KBSNK’s “present” and Inu’s “past,” creating a nested structure that resembles a dream of summer amidst a winter landscape. He also added changes to the arrangement for each part. In terms of sound, it is said to be a summer pop song with the track’s 808 bass rumble and granular synth glitches standing out, contrary to the Japanese atmosphere of the top line. Inu is in charge of the artwork and teaser video, which is a processed summer landscape.
Additionally, KBSNK is scheduled to release a new album as TEMPLIME in December. Inu is said to be working on a new EP for next year. I would like to pay attention to the future trends of both.
[Inu comment]
I usually compose electronic songs, but this time it’s a gentle pop sound with a relatively large amount of live sounds. It’s a great mix of winter and summer! The lyrics are also wonderful, so I’d be happy if you could listen to that as well.
[KBSNK comment]
The prototype was created when we gathered at the end of July, and now that winter has arrived, we have reconstructed it. The video was shot by the two of us at the park and Inu edited it for us! Although it was made on the spot, it turned out to be a surprisingly refreshing song, so please give it a listen!
