It has been announced that SSW’s Kei Owada will release his new single “Walking into Christmas” on Wednesday, December 11th.
Kei Owada has attracted attention for his collaborations with ZIN & Takuya Kuroda and LAGHEADS. As the title suggests, this work is a warm Christmas song. The fantastical scenery of walking through the cityscape that shines in winter is expressed with a gentle singing voice and acoustic band sound. It is said to be a song that will make your everyday life endearing.
Continuing from the previous work, the sound production is by Jun Miyagawa, a multi-keyboardist who is active in the current pop, soul, and jazz scenes from King Gnu to Chie Ayato. The recording features talented members such as Ryuta Tsunoda (bass) from Monkle, Fumihiro Ibuki (drums) from LAGHEADS, and Satoshi Yoshida (guitar).

I love this season, when the ginkgo trees turn yellow and the lights gradually come on in the city, and even as an adult, I still get a little excited about Christmas. I wanted it to be a song that would make you feel happy just walking around without doing anything special, so I chose the title as “A Walk to Christmas.” It’s a very simple song with only three chords, so we recorded it with great care in capturing the feeling of mutual love and the richness and breath of the live performance. Great members performed. I hope everyone has a warm holiday and a happy new year. Please listen to it a lot this winter.
