Misaki Umei launches new label & releases new song “innerjade”

Misaki Umei released her new single “innerjade” today, December 4th (Wednesday).

Misaki Umei studied classical piano, electronic organ, and composition from an early age, and acquired advanced music theory at the Department of Composition at Tokyo College of Music. He is active in the piano trio “Misaki Umei Trio” and as a unit focusing on “songs” with singer Saki Kanno, haruyoi, and also supports various artists such as Ozora Kimijima, Kayoko Yoshizawa, and luvis. There is.

This work is the first single from the new label he launched, (pronounced: plum). The label’s name comes from the words “plum” (plum) and “plumes” (French for feathers). It is said that his wish for the music he creates to spread freely is expressed.

This work, which he composed, wrote the lyrics, and created the artwork himself, is characterized by a delicate and powerful piano, an organic and beautiful track, and a story-like structure. The innocent and clear singing voice of Yuka Takahashi, a bassoon player living in Germany, colors the entire song, and the opening harmony between Umei’s piano and Takahashi’s singing voice has a purity that reminds you of the clear winter air. Purify one’s heart. As the song progresses, more organic tracks are added, and layers of sounds intermingle with passionate singing and piano. The sound is like a beautiful painting, and Umei’s talent as a track maker is on full display.

After the piano solo in the middle, a tapestry of sounds that combines delicate touch and passionate expression develops. Misaki Umei’s unique worldview is expressed, condensing the essence of classical, jazz, and contemporary music.

Furthermore, on December 12th (Thursday), she will hold her first piano solo concert “Misaki Umei Piano Solo Concert-hazy recollections-” at Opera City Recital Hall in Tokyo. In addition to his own original songs, he will perform Toru Takemitsu’s “Rain Tree Drawing”, Kapustin’s “Piano Sonata No. 6”, Ravel’s “Water Play”, and Stevie Wonder’s “Overjoyed”.Performance pageAlso included are comments from musicians whom Misaki Umei truly respects, such as Ozora Kimijima, Kayoko Yoshizawa, Yudai Bando, and Takashi Aragaki. Tickets are now on sale.

[Comment from Misaki Umei]

When I went to my favorite place in the morning, the jade-colored sea I had seen earlier had disappeared without a trace.
Even though I was sad, who was I to feel happy that there was no place I wanted to go back to and that I couldn’t turn back time?
“If I start rowing, I’ll be able to take a deep breath,” he says, and feels the most comfortable now as he turns the rudder to the left.
