Daoko announces details of new AL “Slash-&-Burn” Nariaki Obukuro, GuruConnect, TAAR, Food Festival and others participate

Details of Daoko’s new album “Slash-&-Burn” to be released on Wednesday, May 22nd have been announced.

This album is the 8th album in total, about 4 years after the previous album “anima”. The title means “slash-and-burn,” and reflects Daoko’s desire to burn down the present and past and grow new buds. 11 of the 12 songs are newly written songs that have not been released before, and were self-produced and centered around Daoko’s own lyrics and compositions.

HIDEYA KOJIMA (Hideya Kojima), who has worked on songs since the early days of Daoko’s activities, Nariaki Obukuro (Nariaki Obukuro), who has produced past songs including DJ June, GuruConnect, Maigo Hanyu, TAAR, are involved as live manipulators. He offered arrangements to artists he respects, including Toyoaki Mishima, who has a deep passion for music, and Food Matsuri aka Foodman, who are close to his field of activity. By completing the song together, they achieved a variety of unique musical expressions that expanded Daoko’s spiritual world.

The artwork was created by Kennosuke Hara, an up-and-coming illustrator. A new artist visual has also been released. The photo was taken by photographer Mami Baba, who jointly held an exhibition with Daoko at Ebisu KATA in Tokyo in 2019 and is also responsible for Daoko’s last three artist visuals.

Furthermore, tickets for the Tosaka solo tour “Daoko “Slash-&-Burn” Tour 2024”, which will be held to commemorate the album release, will go on sale to the general public starting today, May 11th (Saturday). This will be his first one-man live show in Japan in about a year and a half, featuring a new band set and songs from the new album.
