Rapper okudakun releases 2nd album “my song file.2”

Rapper/producer okudakun released his 2nd album “my song file.2” today, December 6th (Friday).

okudakun is also active as a core member of the cloud rap collective and is considered a core presence in the digital core scene in Japan. This work, “my song file.2”, is an album containing 11 songs cut out to sketch the mental landscape of my current state of mind, which continues to change at a dizzying pace. The inorganic titles reflect the dry aesthetic sensibilities of the digital native generation. In order to break away from past works, we have deepened both the tracks and lyrics while retaining the emotional worldview that is our signature.

In “Pulsation”, which was released as the lead single, he challenged the beat making that seemed to fuse the two styles of drill/trap, and in “Kumogakure”, with someone’s toy box as co-producer, he turned to organic electronica. He brings together scattered genres such as “Reaching Out” with a unique essence.

Although okudakun is a multifaceted artist who stands on the line between a rapper and a singer, and also exhibits outstanding skills in beat making, he still considers himself to be a “neo-geek” and “emo boy.” However, this work, “My Song File.2,” certainly records the growth of his talent for sublimating sentiment into expression.

The artwork for this work was co-created by funaiyukino and okudakun. Mastering was handled by Naofumi Ueda, who also worked on “Lunula (exit full screen)” and “kaomozi compilations vol.2.”
