gai seki releases conceptual 1st EP “retfa” from wau today

gai seki released his 1st EP “retfa” today, May 15th (Wednesday).

Gai Seki is a percussionist belonging to the creative label/collective , and also participates in the percussion improvisation group La señas. He is in charge of leader sessions every month in Shimokitazawa/Ikebukuro, Tokyo, and provides live and recording support all over the country.

This work has a conceptual composition that includes two previously released singles and three new songs.The artwork includes the same creative team as the past two singles.〈NoNation〉Also known for creating graphics forAtsuya NagataAppointed. Featuring gorgeous studio musicians, the result is a contemporary jazz sound that uses an approach unique to percussionists.

In addition, it has been decided that he will appear in the second part of the wau residency project to be held at Ebisu Blue Note Place in Tokyo on Wednesday, May 22nd. Check them out as well.

This is a work that marks a break in the musicality that I have been doing up until now. From now on, I will step into a world completely different from what I have seen and heard so far, but I will be able to affirm my feelings and decisions regarding this world. I would be happy if it could be one of the sights that someone sees and hears.
