Collaborative album “ORGANS” released by Mars89 and Albino Sound

Albino Sound and Mars89’s collaborative album “ORGANS” was released today, January 9th (Thursday).

In an underground laboratory somewhere in Tokyo. The air is permeated with mold and a hint of cigarette smoke as two men wrestle with giant cables and machinery. Standing on a floor littered with organs that could not be considered organic or inorganic, they continued to silently operate the machines in front of them. Without knowing what kind of monster would be born──

This is the seventh release from Nocturnal Technology, and was produced by label boss Mars89 in collaboration with Albino Sound of fellow Tokyo-based label Kaitai Shinsho, with a body inspired by Cronenberg. It’s a horror fetish album.

Building a hardware laboratory and collecting samples from VHS-era blockbuster horror films such as Hellraiser and Leviathan, the duo went through phases of EBM, techno, and dub to create a nightmarish culmination story. created.

“ORGANS” was born from a single studio session in which the duo dabbled with equipment such as Elektron’s Analog Rhythm, Soma Laboratory’s Pulsar 23, and Korg’s Volca Bass, as well as hardware such as Moog’s Mother32 and various modular synths. It is said that After that, we exchanged many times
The number of tracks increased as they were “cultivated” and the album as a whole was completed.

The album’s opener, “Ultimately Brain,” is an EBM thrasher with a buzz of experimental spirit, evoking images of dark nights and rushing energy that run throughout the album. “Psychiatric Deviance” is a melancholic dub laboratory, reminiscent of a scientific process in progress or a test tube dripping with liquid.

“Somebody,” which features NS3 Dub Siren throughout, is a song that lulls listeners into a trance-like state. And “Three Drills” is the most driving of the album, perfect for Berlin’s early morning dance floors. In “Deception,” sparkling hi-hats and percussion revolve around Moog’s synth line, climaxing with a didgeridoo-like sound, and the album “ORGANS” ends on a high note.

“ORGANS” will be released in two formats: digital and cassette tape. Cassette tapes are made from recycled plastic, making them a sustainable way to physically own music without putting too much strain on the environment.

[Albino Sound comment]

The cells generated in the underground sessions were edited and cultured, and then transformed (evolved) into completely different organisms. I call this process alchemy and have tried it many times in my own productions, but with a collaborator named Mars89, I was able to obtain even more accelerated results. Please listen to the voices of these chimeras, each with their own unique characters.

[Mars89 comment]

Born from a basement experiment, the material multiplied exponentially, chopped, distorted, and laid out in a non-linear timeline. The created monster/chimera or cyborg is sealed inside magnetic tape, waiting for its release.
