The music event “Grooving Night,” hosted by SIRUP, will be broadcast on Yomiuri TV as a music special program on Friday, February 21st.
“Grooving Night #4” was held at Orix Theatre in Osaka in September last year. The guest will be Ayumu Imazu, who is based in the United States and Japan. With the concept of “having a grooved night before going to bed,” the host SIRUP held a one-night stand and chat on a stage inspired by a “relaxed night room.”
Each of them performed a passionate stage on the show. At the beginning, it’s SIRUP “Do Well,” which has also been covered by Ayumu Imazu in the past. Next, Ayumu Imazu performed his signature song, “Obsessed,” which won the Japan Record Awards Project Award last year, to liven up the show. In the talk part, both of them sit on the bed in their pajamas, and the artists have a true conversation. Perhaps due to tension, Ayumu Imazu sat at the closest distance in the event history. “This is the first time I’ve ever sat so close!” SIRUP softened the atmosphere and laughed at the venue.
The two people who are active both domestically and internationally, including stories that only the two of them from Osaka gave a sense of affinity through their local talk, and the first topic of conversation, “What are the differences in values from Japan that they feel when they live abroad?” The conversation is held on a variety of unique topics. In “What phrase do you like about each other’s songs?”, Ayumu Imazu chose SIRUP’s “Superpower.” SIRUP expresses his passion for the lyrics of the phrase “Everybody’s waiting around for the new normal,” selected by Ayumu Imazu, saying, “I changed the lyrics because I didn’t want anyone to leave them behind.”
In addition, “Grooving Night” provides viewing support for people with visual and hearing impairments under the theme of “entertainment that everyone can enjoy with peace of mind,” and the program also introduces these initiatives. There was also a view that the two actually experienced it before the concert. It also includes an interview with SIRUP with Pride Center Osaka, which is working to deepen understanding of LGBTQ+ and expand the circle of support, which is being held in the lobby on the day.
At the end of the live performance, the venue was united with SIRUP’s “Your Love,” which also has a desire to create a society where each other can respect each other. And at “Superstar,” choreographed by Ayumu Imazu, they performed a groove-filled performance, bringing together the venue and the excitement.
The final session is a one-night special session between the two of them. This time, they performed an acoustic version of Bruno Mars’ “Treasure,” which they both admire, using Ayumu Imazu’s guitar playing. Don’t miss out on this valuable special collaboration that can only be seen here.
Furthermore, guest artist SKY-HI, who will be appearing at the end of the programme, will also appear for the next performance. It also includes a special conversation in which SIRUP and the two talk about the highlights of the next performance.
