The latest work in the mix series “MIX BUG” by LAID BUG, a gallery in Daikanyama, Tokyo, “LB-MIXBUG-004 Mixed by Shakke,” will be released on cassette tape.
This is a mix of DJ Shakke, who plays dance music centered around hip-hop, while also working as a live DJ unit with Wardaa, shakke-n-wardaa, as well as a live DJ for VaVa and SPARTA. This is the second collaboration with LAID BUG since the 2020 mixed CD “LB-MIXBUG-002 Mixed by Shakke.”
Shakke himself has been familiar with genres such as folk and country since his teens, and is based on keywords such as “America as longing,” “David Lynch,” “Suberb,” and “Fantasy Dubbing Tape.” This is a 60-minute home listening work selected for songs, with mastering by Ryosuke Tsuchiya and artwork by Kiuchi Toshifumi.
The cassette itself also contains a download code, which contains the mix sound source data as well as a PDF of the production diary of this work by Shakke. This work will begin on Wednesday, February 26th at LAID BUG’s online store, and will be available in order to expand the number of stores that will be sold thereafter.
