It has been announced that bane will release its new EP, “CONTRAST” on Wednesday, March 19th.
This album, which will be about a year and three months since the second EP “mono,” includes four songs, including the song “UmU” written by Rikuto Nagira (lo-key design), “unbalance” with FKD, head of creative group VIBEPAK, “Pluto” produced by beatmaker grooveman Spot, and “Signal” re-collaboration with Shin Sakiura, as well as the title song “CONTRAST”, which AGO has been sound-produced.
The title song, “CONTRAST,” is a song that has a fast-paced beat and is accompanied by the message, “You can just leave and run away from facing yourself and worrying, and you will need time to release your body and mind.” The phrase “I love the steps I made up until yesterday, and light and shadow always meet together” is said to contain the feeling that “When you’re about to be swallowed up by thinking too much, you can dance all night long and be saved by the sunlight you saw in the morning.”
The songs on the EP also depict the pain of being asked to be true, the feelings of “life is not going to go well with a balanced approach,” the thoughts that are unconsciously trapped, and the movements of bane’s own mind, such as “Believe in the signal in your heart and move forward.” Among them, the title song, “CONTRAST,” is said to be the way that we interact with “light and shadow” inside, which is also a hint for living. Shadows are born only because of the light, and there is no shadow without light, and both light and shadow are kept alive, making it a song that symbolizes the EP.
The artwork is by photographer Kippei, who has consistently worked on the artwork since “UmU.” Bane’s eyes staring at me are impressive, and the photo shows her as a singer-songwriter in the contrast between light and shadow.

In addition, on Saturday, April 19th, a solo live performance called “CONTRAST” will be held at Roppongi Common in Tokyo, which also serves as an EP release party. Shin Sakiura will be participating as guest performers, and DJs will also feature FKD, CHEBB and Shun Izutani (Re.). A photographer Kippei, who has worked on artwork photos, artist photos, flyer photos, and more for his past singles, will also be held at the same time. The unpublished information is about to be released, so please look forward to more news.
