It has been announced that Maika Loubté will release her cover EP “Dream, Neo, Atmo” on Wednesday, April 23rd.
This work is a reconstruction of the old J-POP with its own unique worldview. It includes covers of classical masterpieces that have been deeply engraved in the heart of Maika Loubté, who spent her childhood in Japan and colored her adolescence overseas: Spitz’s “Robinson,” Cocco’s “Strong and Flexible People,” and PUFFY’s “Asian Innocence.” It is said that the program will deliver it with the utmost respect for the original song and its unique arrangement.
The first leading single from the film, Spitz’s “Robinson” cover will be released on Wednesday, March 26th. The cover is said to be carefully crafted with the chorus work of the a cappella section, maintaining the original emotion, while also woven with the futuristic, fantastical soundscape unique to Maika Loubté. The artwork is a work of Maika Loubté himself outputting the motifs and images that appear in the lyrics of “Robinson,” and is brushed up by designer SHINJI ItoU. It seems that you can experience the original song, which symbolizes J-POP in the 90s, in Maika Loubté’s new world of sound.
Maika Loubté will be holding its first solo live performance in about a year and a half at CIRCUS Tokyo, Shibuya, Tokyo on Friday, June 6th. Also check it out.

“Robinson” is a special song for me. In covering this song, which is accompanied by adolescence memories, I arranged it based on the image of “A cappella,” “choir,” and “cathedral.” The lyrics guided by the words “If you float in the air with great force,” I expressed a worldview that makes the cathedral appear like a castle in the sky. We put a lot of effort into the chorus part. I hope you all enjoy this song as a new side to Robinson.
