A live video of Aoba Ichiko’s “Luciférine” from her solo performance “ICHIKO AOBA “Luminescent Creatures” World Premiere” held at the Showa Women’s University Hitomi Memorial Auditorium in October last year has been released.
This performance marked the “world premiere” of the songs from the latest album, “Luminescent Creatures.” On the day, a total of 10 people performed in a band. Unlike a typical live archive, the footage released this time is a fantastic video work that is structured like a movie.
Aoba Ichiko is currently holding the largest world tour in her career, “Luminescent Creatures World Tour.” Last week, on Monday, March 31st, he performed solo in London for the first time in about three years at Barbican Hall (approximately 2,000 seats) in the Barbican Centre, one of Europe’s largest cultural complexes. In this special night, he co-starred with the album co-writer and producer Umebayashi Taro, as well as the UK’s leading string orchestra, “12 Ensemble.” He performed many of his signature songs in new arrangements along with 10 supporting musicians, and received great applause.
From now on, there are 20 performances in North America, starting with the Hawaii Honolulu performance, which starts next week on Thursday, April 17th. New tour dates have also been announced. In May, he performed in Australia and New Zealand, and in June he revisited all over Europe, including Scandinavian. Additional performances for the South American tour at the end of the year have also been decided.
This summer, a total of five domestic concerts, “Reflections of Luminescent Creatures,” will be held in Tokyo, Yokohama and Osaka, with bands being organized. The world of Luminescent Creatures, which has been further deepened after a world tour, will be reconstructed in a concert hall with excellent acoustics that represent the East and West.
