Kitamura Tsubasa will hold solo live "vivid:W̃M̃" at Shibuya WWW

It has been announced that SSW’s Kitamura Tsubasa will hold a solo live performance of “vivid: W̃M̃” (pronounced by Vivid Wave) at Shibuya WWW, Tokyo on Saturday, June 7th.

The first EP, “500mm,” released last June last year, launched a new axis called “dance music,” and freely crossed genres such as R&B, folk, jazz, house, techno, and ambient. Kitamura Tsubasa has built his own unique world of music with a delicate and flexible approach.

In January this year, he held his biggest capacity, “vivid:AM,” at Omotesando WALL & WALL, Tokyo, to sell out. This performance is said to be a sequel to the live performance.

Kitamura is currently working on his first full album. What I face every day in music production is the feeling of seeing invisible “sound” as waveforms. The title “vivid:W̃M̃” contains the concept of “sound waveform.” The letters W and M are superimposed with tildes (~) to visually express the moment when sound appears as waves. To “visually” judge a sound, look at two-dimensional waveforms. The form “~~W̃M̃” is a symbol of this, and it shows the essential power of sound, which means that the waveform overlaps with the waveform, “reaching even frequencies that were not reached.”

In the EP “500mm” to the previous solo show “vivid:AM”, the image was inspired by a “three-dimensional sound image”, but this time the waves drawn with lines have resulted in a new three-dimensional effect.

Kitamura Tsubasa has been attracting attention both domestically and internationally, having performed his first overseas live performance at the official SXSW showcase, INSPIRED BY TOKYO, and joined Tomita Lab as a new member. It looks like this will be a valuable night where you can experience her musical expression, which is currently being produced, and her current location.
