“I hope you enjoy music with purity and simplicity” – just as the thoughts said on stage, it was a pure and pure live performance with music and singing firmly in the middle. The solo live performance “MUSICK” held at Nishinaga Tokyo International Forum Hall A on Saturday, April 12th was a vivid expression of how politely Nishina has been dealing with music, and how beautiful it is to be shared with the band members and audience.
Following the opening movie, which collages various “music” scenes, a silhouette of the band members playing appears on the screen that is stuck on the front of the stage. When the screen fell, a man with a guitar appeared. The first song is “Ainikoi.” The venue was thrilled with the unexpected set list. This song has been played at the end since its first solo live performance. The forward-throbbing band sound instantly warmed the atmosphere in the venue, and the live performance began in a light and refreshing way.
Next, “sweet cranberry jam.” Nishina hangs her bag over her shoulder instead of a guitar, and as she walks around the stage she scatters the candy she’s taken out of it across the audience. My hands rose everywhere as I cried out, “Candy, someone I want!” After that, he continued to communicate with the audience by repeating songs with “Tokyo Marble” and “Beast Friends.” With the relaxed atmosphere, the sense of unity in the venue grew even more.
“Have you all had dinner?” Shina talks to her with the ease, just like having invited a friend into her house. The theme of this live performance is to share music at such a distance. In fact, every song on this day’s song was very polite, and I could feel the intimacy of speaking in words. The collaboration song with Kujira, which plays a fresh melody, “Is that Love?”, suddenly, “Bugs” with dance beats and lights sparkling, and “Night” as the red and blue lighting beautifully illuminates the stage – the songs and sounds that change their expressions with each song evoke a variety of emotions from the audience. Among these, “1999” was even more delicately delivered. The highlight of the first half of the live performance was this song, where the band plays the gentle sound and weaves the scenery as if talking to someone special.
At the end of “1999”, as the smoke that covered the stage slowly clears, Nishina tells her that she will hold an acoustic corner as an “attempt that she’s always wanted to try.” This was performed by “FRIDAY KIDS CHINA TOWN.” The jazzy intro creates a relaxed rhythm, and the song expands with a completely different atmosphere from the original version. It is impressive to see Shina sing as if to surrender to the sound. Furthermore, the two of them went to the “rendezvous” with just the keyboardist Matsumoto Jun. The song delivered in the light of the mirror ball seems to symbolize the politeness of the day, and the audience listened in depth.
She smiles at the audience as they quietly enjoy the afterglow of the afterglow, saying, “There’s so much tension!” “Next!” and invited the members who had once left the stage, and this time they all came together with “It’s a piece of cake.” Sanada Toru’s acoustic guitar, Matsumoto’s keyboard harmonica, and Tomi’s bass cajon is played by Mochizuki Takashi. The organic sound image, which everyone sits in circles, is pleasant. The audience’s “Lalala” chorus was added to create music throughout the hall.
Once the acoustic corner is over, the live performance finally reaches the second half. The sound of the guitar echoed, and “Mashiro” was delivered with great force. From “slow motion” to “sugar spot” with a band introduction. After enjoying the song with the audience, while having fun on stage, she lays down on the floor, saying, “I’m tired! Help everyone!” Perhaps because the acoustic tension that came out earlier has been relieved, his performance has now become more and more free. In response to the words “help me,” a huge audience chorus engulfed the venue on “U+.” “It’s a shame it’s over. Thanks to everyone, it’s a really fun time.” Shina’s expression seemed to be reluctant to say this, but she really seemed reluctant to say that. Tsukushi was performed here as a song that I had never played live. The sound and message of great scale spread out as if to shake up the big venue.
When I bring out the “heavy smoke” with a lot of emotion, I say, “This is the last song.” A cry of “What” cried out from the audience at those words. While accepting this voice, it was “Wow” that was played. The large themes of music, love, and expressions of nishina overlap, and beautiful sounds and melody are conveyed throughout the venue. Singalong throbbed by the microphone facing the audience. Sanada’s emotional electric guitar echoed through the outro, and the main live performance was dramatic.
Later, during the encore, the audience sang, claps and voices of “leave me alone” echoed with “cats,” and the venue was united once more. “There was a boy with a loud voice,” he expressed his gratitude to the song he heard while waiting for the encore, and with the announcement that he had “made a new song,” he performed the new song “weekly” for the first time. As Shina said, “Everyone can sing together can have fun,” it was a pleasant song with a soul-like groove that naturally swayed the body and mind. Then, when I introduced the band members again, Nishina spoke to the audience again.
Today, before the performance, he confessed that he had lost his heart and could no longer sing, and expressed his feelings, saying, “I thought I couldn’t stand on stage, I couldn’t see everyone. But I don’t know if I was able to stand on stage and did well, but everyone seemed to be having fun and I’m really glad that I was able to make music. I felt so happy.” He then gave me a huge applause.
The last song to be performed was “harmonic flight,” an unreleased song in singing and singing, which was “the way I started playing music.” The song was created about two years ago, and gently enveloped the venue with songs that confirmed the feelings that were deep in the heart.
During the live performance on this day, it was announced that a nationwide tour “MUSICK 2” will start in June. This tour around the live house will bring the distance between Nishina’s music and fans to a closer look. I’m looking forward to it along with “weekly” which will be released on Wednesday, April 30th.
